Vesalius Partners
Team
Two operators, complementary by design.
We will run the business we buy, full time, ourselves. Here is who we are.

Cassidy Driscoll Wachtel
Co-Founder
Cassidy covers strategy and finance at Vesalius. Before launching the fund she spent six years across the healthcare services landscape: strategy consulting at ZS Associates, where she ran commercial diligence on billion-dollar private equity transactions; molecular lab work at MAKO Medical during the COVID pandemic. During business school she held internships at Cerralvo Capital, BPOC, and Cinnamon Hill Partners — three private equity firms with deep healthcare expertise — as well as operations at a search-acquired laboratory business that gave her a working view of both sides of the deal table.
She holds an MBA from Chicago Booth, an MSc in Translational Health Sciences from Oxford, and a BS in Applied Physics and Japanese Literature from Tufts, where she graduated magna cum laude. After Tufts she spent two years working in Wakayama, Japan, an experience in being the outsider in an established community.
She is structured and evidence-driven by default and loves nothing more than a working on a challenging problem with a great team. Away from work she practices karate, stays active outdoors and at the gym, and enjoys trying to brew the perfect cup of coffee.
She lives in Chicago with her husband Samuel and their dog, Yuna.

Kayvon Soheili
Co-Founder
Kayvon runs operations and technology at Vesalius. At Baylor Scott & White, one of the largest health systems in the country, he spent years across the revenue cycle, owning vendor strategy from diligence through implementation and building internal fixes when no vendor fit. Earlier, at DXC, he product-managed changes to the Medicare and Medicaid claims systems, some of the largest financial plumbing in American healthcare.
He holds an MBA from Chicago Booth and a BA in Healthcare Administration from UT Dallas. He grew up in Texas, the son of Persian immigrants who built a signage business from vinyl decals on cars to skyscraper installations — an early education in what it takes to grow a service business one customer at a time.
He is fast, pragmatic, and happiest on the ground clearing an operational bottleneck. Off the clock he collects vintage t-shirts, plays piano, and loves to cook.
Why we work together
We have been friends and thought partners since 2021, long before this fund. Our skills divide cleanly. Cassidy drives the structured, evidence-based side of a decision, and Kayvon drives the ground-level execution. We critique ideas hard and treat each other well, and we have spent enough hours arguing over strategy, and over board games, to know exactly how the other one thinks under pressure.
